This New Moon in Cancer is like a surge of water splashing all over us. It’s a Total Solar Eclipse!
So, let’s break this down and see what all this means.
The Sun is in Cancer illuminating all our emotions, feelings, and family karma that needs to be healed. The Sun is also aligned with the North Node really telling us as a collective, that this is where we need to put our focus! Not just now, but for a while! It’s just being highlighted right now.
The Moon, which rules over Cancer, will totally cross in front of the Sun and block out its light. Now, the Sun represents our life-force and our spiritual connection as well as our ego expression. Where the Moon represents ego reaction, survival, and selfishness. So what happens when our selfish, reactive mind eclipses our spiritual light and ego expressiveness in the sign of home, family, and feelings?

We all do this to greater or lesser degrees, yet we are often distracted by the media with the extreme displays of our collective patterns. This Eclipse is also a powerful time to eliminate pollution and disease from the shores and reefs on our planet (ruled by Cancer). We can put our focus on healing the waters that meet land all across the world to help Mother Earth revitalize herself during the healing time that Cancer presents.
We can also meditate to eliminate spiritual, mental and emotional epidemics. The human mind tends to pay attention to immediate crises that bestow shock value, totally ignoring the fact that many people have been in a state of crisis for years! We can turn our focus onto the people and places which have been plagued with ongoing misfortune. It is in these places where tragedy has been the normal and no longer “newsworthy”. But they need our healing energy and focus too.
Honesty Moves Anything That Is Stuck!
The Eclipse will be making a square to Chiron in Aries giving us support and incentive to resolve deep-seated wounds. In our quest to bring therapy to ourselves, we can think of what we can do for others who are in need.
Ironically, the most powerful type of therapy is the kind where we self-reflect and allow suppressed energies to arise and release. Never forget that we are protected when we are honest with ourselves.
We are being asked to look at something unpleasant about our identity and to use it to build ourselves into something stronger than we could have ever imagined. The ego must be subdued so that we can use it for God’s will.
The Eclipse will also be making a sextile to Uranus in Taurus which will be great for money! Will may just have great inspiration that will require the absolute submission of our ego. If we can execute these great ideas while putting out egotistical needs and moodiness aside, we can accomplish great wealth and thereby expression of life!
We can finally, find ourself connected to the divine, eliminating and separation altogether as the great Yin and Yang come together as one.
