The New Moon in Cancer Astrology

This is the second new moon in Cancer of 2020!

The first new moon in Cancer was an eclipse so we really didn’t “get” it. So there will be no lack in this area of the Zodiac! The beginning of the Cancer season began with a bang and will end with a splash!

The ultimate water sign, Cancer responds to the ebb and flow of life - in all areas. An ebb is a phase when water pulls away from the shore, and the flow is the incoming phase when the water rises again. This phenomenon is influenced by the moon, the planetary ruler of Cancer.

So there are times when we need to go out, and there are times when we need to go within. This is Cancer. Looking at the symbolism of the crab: the shell protects while within, and the claws assist during acquisition.

Like astrology, the ebb and flow of life determine the conditions of reality. Timing is everything as it can make the difference between meeting your soulmate and achieving material ambitions, or being at the wrong place at the wrong time meeting the wrong people. In other words, when we ebb when we should flow, and flow when we should ebb, we will be far off the mark from where we need to be. We will miss opportunities, and might even become lost. The crossing of timelines and realities can change the world.

Adhering to a higher schedule is very difficult for most people because they want a sense of control. Yet, successful people will tell you that they work and create the rhythm, i.e. the heartbeat of reality and not to fixed time schedules established by society.

Of course, as a culture we have to adhere to a strict time schedule, to be able to organize millions of people into a societal structure, otherwise there is only anarchy and chaos, but we all benefit from asking the question whose timetable am I following right now? Reality is actually timeless and when we become so obsessed with time, we lock ourselves into the material world. Now there is a balance to this as time helps us to prevent entitlement and laziness, but the ebb and flow of life reflect time management too.

When we ebb when we should flow and flow when we should ebb, we become lazy. Why? Because our efforts will be lost. Why? Well, think of it like this: you wait to set sail and you’re pushing the boat on low tide. There is no water beneath the boat, how successful will you be? Rather than waste time and energy, become aware of the schedule and push when conditions are favorable because conditions will always change. This is also why we want to push during favorable conditions.

So what happens when we see no effects from our effort? Or even when we do see effects but we came from a place of ego enforcement (meaning that we force something to happen and exaggerate a little bit that it did happen). One of two things: we will lose what we gained, or we become jealous.

The Question Of This Quest.

24 hours before and 24 hours after the New Moon is a cosmic window where subconscious content rises to the surface and asks us to deal with whatever we have suppressed so that it will not contaminate our efforts.

It can lead to evil eye, which is one of the weapons of greatest destruction man has ever known.
