Solar Ingression: Aries 2020
March 19 - April 14
The Astrological New Year, and Spring Equinox, will begin when the sun ingresses into Aries on March 19, 2020.
In astrology, a solar ingression is when the sun enters a new sign, which is commonly known as an “astrological season”. Since the sun never goes retrograde and wants to always keep moving forward, each ingression represents the next step we need to take.
Since everything comes from light, all the ions, atoms, and cosmic pixels are influenced by that zodiac archetype which filters the light of the sun before we receive it here on earth. The sun represents 60-70% of our personal karma, so it’s a rather large shift. Aries is the first zodiac sign which contains all the potential of the following eleven zodiac signs. It’s a sign that allows us to access the vision we need to move forward with energy, vigor and zest. We learn right away that no matter how many times we go around this circle, we learn something new.
The first day of Aries, and the following eleven days, are very powerful cosmic windows which allow us to control our destiny and transcend our fate. For the 2020 Astrological New Year, the Sun will be aligned with Chiron in Aries right from the beginning. This indicates that this will be a year of healing ourSELVES and our vision.
Aries gives us clarity and vision to see the bigger picture. The sun is semi-square the moon in Aquarius asking us to control our emotions and figure out a way to channel them into some sort of service. Serving something greater than our ego. Love and freedom will be revealed by uniting parts of ourselves that oppose teamwork and maturity.
When the Sun is transiting through Aries, known as “Aries Season”, certain laws and propensities, gifts and challenges are set into effect.
Mars, the planet which rules Aries, is in Capricorn impelling us to work hard and reach our goals. Mars is also going very fast and will be in Aries for a long portion of the year. There is also an emphasis on daily life and reprogramming habitual thinking. The chart indicates that we will find safety in foreign places and higher thought.

As the Sun approaches Chiron in Aries, Saturn will enter Aquarius which will bring big changes to social structures. This is a welcome change after the heaviness of Saturn in Capricorn, one less planet in Capricorn will make a difference! This is a time where we will want to focus on what’s ahead and pay attention to what’s keeping us stuck.
It’s time to meditate and figure out the best plan to outgrow small-minded realities. Suppressed wounds that have to do with identity, the way we think of ourselves, need to be looked at, accepted and outgrown.
This is a powerful period for embarking on any path we thought we were too weak to travel down because the landscape has changed.

As mars enters Aquarius we are called to draw upon our resources so that we may utilize this transit in an effective manner. With collective mars in Aquarius, it can be a bit difficult to understand why people act and behave in the way they do. Expect a lot of surprises and hopefully good ones!
We will also be granted with some energy to fuel advances and progressions for the world at large. This is very timely, with all damage from the Coronavirus, we will need a lot of energy to pull through.
Venus will enter Gemini, challenging us to stick with our commitments. On the other hand, we will have an easier time communicating with others. Then, Jupiter will reach conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn bringing some much-needed expansion and blessings to the cosmic scene. The warning is that we might repeat some judgment. But we have the option to lift out of it too.

This is a phase of celebration, perfection and protection. Mercury, the planet of transportation will enter Aries giving some power to our words and thoughts. Be independent, yet at the same time, we all need to understand that the key to overcoming this time we are facing is by connecting with humanity from an emotional point.
We are now asked to purify our emotional bodies and to raise our vibration. It’s time to grow out of old wounds and turn a new leaf on the emotional, inner, and spiritual levels. Stay connected with others and progress forward with all lessons intact.
