“All battles that we will face in the astrological year to come, as well as the outcomes, are determined on the Full Moon of Aries”
Hi Stargazers! 🌃🔭
This is the second Full Moon in Libra for 2019. The first was 0 degrees and the second is 29 degrees Libra. In other words, the first Full Moon of Solar Aries was in the first degree of the sign and the second Full Moon is in the last degree of the sign. The Alpha and the Omega of Libra!
The Full Moon on March 21st, on the Spring Equinox, gave us access to the big picture, even just a sliver of it. When we think of all the galaxies that have been created since the Big Bang, and really meditate on how small we are, we see that the picture is always getting bigger and bigger.
This Full Moon will be on April 19, 2019, at 11:12 AM UTC @ 29° Libra just an hour or so before the Moon moves into Scorpio.
It is within this area of the Zodiac where we can gain access to resting our thoughts and bringing stability to our mental processes.
Full Moons give us the ability to take whatever blockages we are facing in our life back down to the quantum level so that we can create something new. It’s a window in time when we can melt down obstacles back into their original - and thereby neutral - energy state.
We know that everything in this universe is made up of the same matter. If we have set intentions on the New Moon, or at any point in our lives, on the Full Moons we can follow-up with those intentions and see where we stand.
The Question of this Quest.
In order to see what we need to remove, each Full Moon poses a unique question for reflection, as the Sun and Moon are in opposition - reflecting back to each other asking:
“How deeply do I understand the truth that obstacles on my way to happiness happily are lessons I have not yet learned in light of Justice?”
Contemplate this question during the Full Moon window and write down any insights that may come so that you can have a greater idea of what to work on. You can work deeper with this question in my virtual ritual which will be available online.
The keyword in the question above is “happily”.
Can We Learn Happily?
How many times have we been frustrated by new information coming at us? It’s one thing to actively seek information when we Google things or ask around. But when it comes seemingly unsolicited, most of the time, we put up our walls.
But, why?
We could say that we try to protect ourselves from new information because new information might threaten one of the many things we have suppressed. So it’s almost like our mind protects itself and ensures our survival by rejecting new information, which is against nature because our reptilian brain knows on the one hand that the ones that adapt will survive but on the other hand it has to stick to what it knows.
And so our inner conflicts are born and as we go throughout life, we tend to push things down that we’d rather not deal with. We put them on the back burner and let them overcook, filling our subconscious with the aroma of something we need to deal with. Now, of course, the subconscious, ruled by the Moon, is aware of it. And, because the subconscious is programmed to ensure our survival, whatever we deem irrelevant to mere survival can be suppressed. Because, after all, when survival is the priority, how can we ever thrive?
But this Full Moon sort of throws a wrench into that ego subsystem.
Whenever this area of the Zodiac, hosts the Full Moon, we access parts of our subconscious brain that want to be released. New information will come from within if it hasn’t already tried to get your attention by coming from without.
So again, back to the keyword, “happily”. Obviously, information can appear to present itself as an obstacle, but really information is just the messenger.
The obstacle exists independent of our awareness of it. So we shouldn’t mistake information as being an obstacle, in the same way, we shouldn’t mistake the messenger for the message.
If we can organize our mind in this way, we can allow information to present itself and we tend to listen to others without getting aggressive or impatient. Only then can we happily learn even the lessons that are yet to come!
Obstacles As Lessons.
It goes without saying that all life lessons are karmic tests that we need to pass. We are all accountable for our life lessons. Plus, as we learn and integrate our lessons, we not only improve our own lives but the collective karma of all life!
This can give us another reason to happily learn our lessons of karma without drama. Suffering can be appropriated as something that is purifying and healing if it inspires change. Because, as the saying goes, “time heals all wounds”, but there should be another part of that saying “but then we wound ourselves again”.
One of my guides, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche writes:
“Through awareness, suffering is somewhat changed in its perspective. It is not that you do not suffer, but the haunting quality that fundamentally you are in trouble is removed. It is like removing a splinter: it might hurt, and you might still feel pain, but the basic cause of that pain, the ego, has been removed.”
We don’t need to hurt ourselves in the same spot over and over again to learn the lesson.
Shavasana.
This is a Full Moon when we are asked to lay in Sav Asana, or corpse pose, to lay ground positive thoughts and release negative ones.
If we can allow our mental activity to relax, we will be able to hear our intuition and see what action we need to take next.
ReAction vs. ReActivity.
Finally, something very massive we need to understand about this Full Moon is the difference between reaction and reactivity.
The best way to understand the difference is by knowing that reactivity is a state of mind where a reaction is a one-off event. In the same way, activity can be doing a bunch of things without taking any action (i.e., busybody syndrome).
For example, we can have a jam-packed day without ever really doing anything. Whereas, if we talk with someone or read something inspirational, our lives can be transformed without having really done anything (on the outside). Sometimes inner action is where we really need to act before we make outer actions, otherwise, we fall into the trap of activity.
As this is the Full Moon of Battles, we would do well to equip ourselves with the discernment between reaction and reactivity. All battles that we will face in the astrological year to come, as well as their outcomes, are determined on the Full Moon of Aries (ruler of war).
We are all at war with our ego nature ALL the time. The moment we forget that, or the moment we enter into reactivity, we lose the war.
The Zodiac Is A Spiral.
When looked at from a 2-dimensional perspective, the Zodiac appears to be a flat circle. This is a commonly accepted, yet false, understanding of astrological parameters.
The Zodiac is actually a spiral when we look at it from a 3-dimensional perspective. Each of us has their own planets, and we determine whether we move up, or down the spiral with every new journey.
