New Moon in Sagittarius: Let There Be Light!

NEW MOON @ 15° SAGITTARIUS DEC. 7, 2018, 07:21 AM UTC

Let There Be Light!

THE NEW MOON IN SAGITTARIUS IS ASKING US TO RECEIVE ALL THE ENERGY WE NEED TO CREATE MIRACLES IN OUR LIFE.

Hi Stargazers! 🌚

When looking at the chart of this New Moon we find that it is extremely optimistic with Sun, Moon and Jupiter all in Sagittarius. The vibe is one of expansion, growth, reaping merit, and receiving blessings. Our challenge to is know that everything was, is, and always will be good.

So here we are once again presented with the opportunity to ask for what we want, set our intentions, and elevate ourselves to the next level. Obviously, we need to take a look at the spiritual weather to see what obstacles the ego will throw at us so it can keep the status quo.

This New Moon is just days before the Winter Solstice. That means, it’s occurring during the darkest time of the year (in the northern hemisphere), which is why many traditions adhere to The Festivals of Light. Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, and many other traditions celebrate bringing light into the world. It is within our nature to bring light and to counterbalance darkness.

So we ask, where has the light gone? Has it abandoned us? Has it left us alone, left us to fend for ourselves? Why do so many people experience depression during this time of year? Is it the actual absence of light or the archetypal image it represents.

Darkness represents yin, female energy. When our environment grows darker and darker, literally that is, we are more and more surrounded by yin energy. When we are engulfed in so much yin energy, we begin to direct our attention within, and we might not always like what we find. Everything that we have suppressed or repressed throughout the year becomes more transparent the dimmer the light gets. Our eyes become more accustomed to the dark energy so we are better equipped to see more.

Imagine you walk into a dark room after being the in the sunlight all day. You might not see as well as the person who has been in that dark room waiting for you. But as time passes, you will begin to recognize shapes and eventually gain a real strong feel for the organization of the room.

Now, the act of bringing light into the world is to illuminate the dark room so that we can see what’s going on. We can take inventory and decide what needs to go and what needs to be put to use. This can include talents as well as subconscious programming.

The greatest amount of light comes from the deepest darkness. Everything we need in life is already within us, we simply have lost contact with it. And although we may have lost faith in miracles and wonders, in our child's mind the archetype of Santa Claus and his wish-fulfilling powers is very much alive. So the New Moon of Sagittarius wants us to access these wonders within and bring life to our vision and imagination, so that our wishes may become real.

This New Moon is occurring at 15° Sagittarius, which is the peak of the sign. This is opening the door to the middle path, the balanced energy of this archetype. And though there are factors trying to throw us off, we have the perfect center and gravity to stay anchored and connected to the best of all sides.

So although we are forced to look into our shadow side - those hidden spots we’d rather gloss over - we are bestowed with energy and instructions to stay afloat and buoyant in the sea of shadows. We are not called to go deep sea diving in our subconscious mind, we only need to recognize the patterns that are preventing us from our next level, i.e. shed some light on them. That way we can stop problems before they happen without having to visit the dark places from where they originate.

We want to draw the patterns out into our turf so that we can have the home team advantage (which has a 64.7% success rate, btw.) And when so much is at stake - making our wishes come true - we will need all the help we can get! Of course as we are all Stargazers we thankfully have the advantage of being aware of the universal schedule. That way, we can transcend the year-end-rush, stress, and pressure to - metaphorically speaking - cash the check when the bank is open and even have some time to spare.

We need a miracle to break free from the self-imposed limitations and now is the time to receive it. Miracles can come in many ways and as we are revealing more and more talents we need to be careful to not feel victimized by the opportunities that will be presented to us. Because the universe will never “do it” for us, rather we need to make the actions and allow the universe to support those actions!

If you have been looking for answers, this is the New Moon cycle to receive them just in time for the New Year.

When working the the concept that the greatest amount of light comes from the deepest darkness, we see how much opportunity we have to receive light in our lives. When we are surrounded by supportive energy, we are able to transcend and/or overcome adversarial influences.

This final New Moon cycle of 2018 will spill over into the new year serving as a bridge between past and future. Not all bridges are good, so we better use the 2018 part of this cycle to clean up subconscious programming keeping us from moving forward. Otherwise, 2019 might serve as a rerun of the same old programs where we know the plot, we know the characters, we know the bad choices, we know the twists, and we know the outcomes. So let’s just fast forward to the resolution and apply it before the rerun starts.

However, oftentimes, the ego wants to glance into the negative and focus on what’s missing. The New Moon in Sagittarius asks us to stay focused on the good, the beautiful, and the true. If we want to break free from the reruns and the same old patterns, we can use the energy of this New Moon in Sagittarius to access and demand miracles in our life. Even more so this year as it joins Jupiter in Sagittarius, who is at home making miracles for us all.

Whenever Jupiter plays a part in the astrological landscape, growth ensues. Let’s not forget that growing up is painful, especially when we want to stay put where we are. At times, we might not see the challenges as growth when they don’t fall into certain ideas or perspectives our inner “know-it-all” fosters. Jupiter can reveal where we are stuck, where we refuse to grow.

To top it off, Mars and Neptune will be at 13° Pisces squaring the Sun and Moon 15° Sagittarius making for a powerful situation that will challenge us all. And as always, we can use the energy of a challenge in one of two ways:

We either become entirely delusional about the confrontations that are up, and the boundaries we need to set. We might even act passive-aggressively or get cold feet at a crucial moment.

OR:

We choose to confront deep seated psychological patterns and subconscious programming that is disturbing our forward motion without sinking into depression or victimization.

When we are able to access our hidden talents, we can open ourselves to new perspectives, transcend limitations, and are ready to grow. However, growth needs boundaries, otherwise it will overstep and grow out of control - think Kudzu if you have a problem with boundaries. We are asked, with this aspect, to build at a steady pace, cultivate courage, and utilize our imagination so that we can make all our dreams come true.
